Frequently Asked Questions – Portraits

What should we wear?

Simple, classic traditional or modern… the choice is yours. Clothing should be an expression
of the person – it can also be used to help achieve an artistic vision. I will offer
advice about clothing when the session is booked and will offer suggestions and work with
you to utilize clothing to its fullest photographic potential.

What time of day is the best for a session?

For the best results, on location sessions should be schedule at least one hour before sunset.  I realize with small children, this may be too late in the day so I will gladly work around your schedule.  Studio sessions can be scheduled anytime of day.

What if it rains during my outdoor session?

Mountain weather can be a little unpredictable and can change in a moment.  I will evaluate the weather and make a decision to reschedule at least 30 minutes before your session.

How long is a session?

A session usually lasts 45 minutes to one hour.

We like you, how do we book?

Give me a call or use the CONTACT FORM to check availability.
We can talk on the phone or set up a personal consultation to discuss your photography needs.  A $50 non-refundable retainer is required to book your session.

What forms of payment do you take?

I accept cash, checks or most major credit cards.

How and when do we receive our pictures?

A couple of weeks after your session, we will set up a time to meet in the studio for you to see physical proofs of all your photos and to discuss prints, wall art, etc.  If you are vacationing in the area for your session and can’t make it back to view the proofs, I will email you a link to view your photos in an online gallery where you can then purchase prints, products or digital files.

Are digital files included in the session fee?

No, I do not include digital files in the session fee.  They can be purchased for an additional charge after the session.  My question to you is this?  Why do you want the digital files?  I care about your photos.  I take a lot of time to shoot, edit, and process and I take pride in my images, and I stand behind my work.  The prints you receive from me are printed at a professional lab that uses the best printers to guarantee that colors are spot on.  These prints also come with a Lustre Coating  that protects against fingerprints, UV exposure, and common over-spraying found in home and office environment.
